Why Is This Important?

According to a study by the Alzheimer’s Association, “Most services for people with dementia are designed for and targeted to older people.” The same case exists for family caregivers of those with early-onset dementias, particularly those who belong to marginalized groups.

We want to disrupt the caregiving narrative. We want a seat at the table when government and nongovernment organizations discuss the needs of young adult caregivers and their aging — but still relatively young — loved ones.

Young adult caregivers need to know we are not alone, help is out there, and life after caregiving is possible.
